David Becker: Number of noncitizens voting illegally is 'close to zero'

"We can't say for sure that there are zero noncitizens voting in American elections, but it's pretty darn close to zero," says election administration expert David Becker.

What a dumb system. In my country, my right to vote comes with my citizenship and is part of the registration. Voter tickets for each voting are sent to the address of my registration. No need for a separate registration. When I go to vote, I need to present a valid legal identification document, like a passport. Somebody else cannot vote for me. I cannot transfer my voting rights outside my municipality. And double identification is needed if someone else wants to use my voter ticket.
If I did not properly register as citizen, then I just lose my right to vote, either because the ticket to vote is sent to the wrong address, or it simply is not sent if I moved abroad. Expats living here must be registered in the same citizen register, but as long as thy do not have citizenship they cannot vote, will not be invited, will not receive a voting ticket.

How would you even know? In CA it is illegal to request an ID. To register, all people need to do is to provide a name, DOB, and address. No ID required. You have NO WAY of knowing the number, be it zero (not likely) or WAY more than zero (highly likely). His reasons are false. I did not have to provide ID to register. Most voters have NO clue of voter laws or consequences, and people have NEVER been subject to any consequence.

States are permitting Drivers Licenses to Immigrants. These people will vote, using the state authorized Licenses as evidence for right to vote. Although, they can be arrested and jailed, except in Sanctuary Cities. And the population that did vote, will never be the wiser to the illegal activity.

I’m glad state funded media (PBS) ran a story telling me that non-citizen voting is extremely low or otherwise I’d believe it was a rampant problem. Thanks RT… err… uhmm… PBS. 👍🏼

I guess there is next to zero gun crime by that logic. Gun crime is against the law, every single person who buys a gun is required to provide ID, and the consequences far outweigh the benefits.

In NY, you have to provide ID when you REGISTER to vote but not when you show up to vote unless it's the first time you vote.

If you are convinced that voter fraud is "rampant" as TFG claims? Volunteer. Volunteer as a poll worker. The training is intensive and there are multiple layers in place to prevent voter fraud.
