More than 7,000 Russian tourists are currently stuck in Thailand according to an estimate released March 22, 2022, by the Southeast Asian nation’s tourism authority. Thai officials said many of the Russians are struggling with cancelled flights, payment issues and currency exchange problems related to Western sanctions targeting their homeland over Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine. Thailand’s government says it has proposed several alternative ways of getting stranded Russians home, including arranging repatriation flights or using airlines which have not yet suspended service to Russia.

All of y’all are missing the point. It doesn’t matter how nice Tailand is.. they’re pretty much broke. You need money to have a nice trip. Food, hotel, taxi, and that’s just the necessities.

the fact that their own families tell them to STAY where they are and not return to Russia is very telling on what is happening there.

Well for those people who not rich are probably getting a financial problem in this situation. But for rich they just live it in there without having a financial problem. But I hope these people will get back to their country soon.

Thanks Thai 🇹🇭 for supporting innocent victims of sanctions! If Putin will just listen and protect them. Promote peace and love ❤️

Another kind of refugees. Whether Ukrainian or Russian, they need to be taken care. Hope the leaders get together, talk it over and peace prevails. Otherwise, it becomes a burden to all countries in so many ways. Every activity, however remote, has a bearing in another part of the world.

It would be convenient if the Rus🇷🇺 embassy in Thai🇹🇭 to cover the cost of deportation of their citizens.

I would be pretty happy to be left in Thailand than living in Russia.

Just think of millions of Ukraines who have lost everything, and thousands died.
This is nothing!

Putin should send flights to Thailand to bring his people back home. Only if he really cares about his people ☹

When I'm free to feel sorry for them, no one else has the money to travel, they'll be happy to find the cashier.

The question is: What do they might meet when they return home?

Why don’t they go to the Russian embassy and ask for help?

I am Thai and currently live in Perm, Russia for 4 years now. Personally, I feel sad for ordinary Russians that they did nothing wrong, but they have to pay for actions by their government. Nobody want this operation to happened in Ukraine, everybody just want to live their lives in peace
