Can't imagine many other former and current presidents taking up arms and standing in front line and fighting for their country like this. It's a fight between good and evil and good will prevail. Slava Ukraini

This country is full of real warriors. Their wealthy famous sports stars like their boxers leave safe countries to come back and fight for their country. Unbelievable courage.

Imagine: This man was sitting in a clean and safe office in a black suit.
This man was polishing his shoes probably twice a day.
This man was eating fancy dishes and on and on, but now he is standing ground holding weapons just to protect his own country, I wish more governments are like Ukrainians. Slava Ukraine!

He is a former president but he fights, and stands with his soldiers. That just shows how Ukrainians are a brave nation, and truly believe in their values, and aren't just a province of Russia as Putin claims. You'd never see Cameron or Blair out with the soldiers in a situation like this

He's entirely correct. This battle is ultimately between less-than-perfect representative democracy, and a despotism that crushes human beings. This may sound like an abstraction but we see it working itself out in the lives of these people. We in the West, regardless of our cynicism toward institutions, should be grateful we can choose our respective governments.

This man is 56 years old with a net worth of $1.5 billion. He could be sitting on a beach in the Bahamas, but has chosen to risk his life for his country. Respect earned.

This man is a wealthy person, he could be in any country as a refugee living his life but he is fighting for his people instead. Ukraine 🇺🇦 stay strong.

If the country I'm from (UK) and the country I live in (US) had a recent history of leaders with the integrity this man & Zelensky are showing then I believe the population would run through brick walls for them and their nation. They are united and steadfast in the face of unimaginable aggression. I am in awe of their courage. Hand-on-heart, I doubt that we could see such unity in either of the aforementioned countries any more.

Ukraine is very lucky to have brave and real leaders ! Both the current President and the former President are so courageous that they go right in the battle to defend their country. In some other countries, once the capital is surrounded, the priority of the leaders is to evacuate or relocate to the safer areas. But in Ukraine, the leaders are so gallant that actually lead their people in battle. Slava Ukraini !!!!

I would think it safe to assume now that the old rivalry between Poroshenko and Zelenskyy is now at the very least on hold. They're both performing very well in this disaster and both are working hard to defend democracy in Ukraine. 🇺🇦

Thus guy lost against Zelensky in the 2019 election. He could be sitting somewhere comfortable watching Zelensky struggling but instead he's there helping out. Huge respect.

Nobody would have thought any less of him if he sought safety outside the country at his age but he chose to stay!

This man has my respect. He holds NATO and the West to account, while acknowledging his thanks for what has been done so far. Men like this inspire the people around him. Victory to Ukraine.
