The TRP Spyke MTB discs drew my attention BECAUSE both pads moved; I currently run BB7's (Avid). Because of my experience with them, I'm also recommending this "fix" for the TRP's: ceramic pads. Available for cheap on eBay, reliable, powerful, AND good modulation. I've never gotten less than 2 years' service from ceramics.

I think you have the brake cabke mounted on the wrong side of the screw

I like my Spykes brakes, but not worth the price. I switched the pads to Shimano resin, I saw rust on the rotor after the first ride. other than that, good mechanicals that allows you to take advantage of using floating rotors. and the ease of adjusting pad contact

Thanks for posting. I find my BB7s not strong enough for my fat bike's front brake. I may go ahead and replace the caliper with a TRP.

My rotors are not looking like yours, more like many different colors from heating metal up. But they never got warm.
I don't ride as much and the pads (kool stop e-bike resin and also the oem) are little bit shiny like glas from the first rides. But I'm very careful with oil etc..
Already sanded them few times:(

Brake power is also not good firstly need to do some harder brakings everytime.

I heard the rotors are not good in cleaning pads and the different hole sizes can be a reason for shuddering in the front (kona rove steel) so I'm going to try the trp-29 rotors, hoping for big improvement in everything.

I'm happy to hear your opinion why the pads behave like glass and the rotors are looking unequally?
