Images provided by the 59th Motorized Infantry Brigade of Armed Forces of Ukraine show soldiers within a US-made Humvee as it hits a land mine on the east Ukraine frontline. The crew reportedly did not sustain any serious injuries. Ukraine launched its counteroffensive in June, but has acknowledged tough battles as it struggles to break through heavily fortified Russian positions.

It looked like the driver and the co-driver / team leader might have got some burns, but they were able to bail out under their own power. I'm impressed. I didn't know the Humvees were that well protected from mines.

it wasn't a mine it was a 120mm mortar round by the left front wheel, they all made it out with slight shrapnel injuries

The early humvee did not have an armored plate bottom, and therefore took casualties. The vehicle was redesigned with an wide V design that redirects the blast up and into another angle. This give more soldier protection when hitting an anti tank mine.

The pop up blocks the screen right when the action happens. Please remove the pop up.

It is an up armored humvee. The MATV rear passenger doors open from the inside to help protect from enemy fire truly amazing to say they survived a missle attack when ieds used to tear these apart. Also the turret is manual in the MATV it's electric.

Wow, that was amazingly raw footage of what man is willing and cabable of doing to his fellow brothers. No wonder that if they do make it out alive there way of seeing the world is F.U.B.A.R. We should all be trying to make this rock we live on better for all of humanity for we really ALL are related to one another.

I have a cousin that was in Iraq and Afghanistan and there was one point where they were driving down the road and he went to switch seats with one of his friends. Not too long after they hit an IED and both his friend and the driver were killed. Luckily he was able to crawl out of it. Much respect to members of the service.

Good thing YouTube covered up half the video with ads right at the part that matters. Thanks YouTube!

This is the reason Humvees are being replaced by MRAPs on the frontlines; no matter how much armor you slap on, the Humvee was not made to withstand mines head on, in fact it wasn't even meant for direct combat altogether.

The Uparmored Humvees are pretty awesome but they're VERY top heavy. I was one of the first to use them over 20 years ago and we had to be very cautious of rollovers. They did have a turbocharged engine to compensate for the extra weight and air conditioning because those things got really hot inside!

one of the lucky few humvees. Not all armored/V hull can protect crew from detonation. The angle of detonation and type of mine used plays a key factor.

American or not, vehicles arent immortal. Lucky..
