In this video I will break down how to make basic rings using silver, copper and brass. I know as a beginner you might not want to buy silver or is just out of your price range so that is what I will be working with some copper and brass too.

I will let you know now, copper and brass to a point is harder to work with compared to silver but I have faith that you will still be able to do this with little to no problems.

You are going to need some basic tools and I will provide you with links to an Amazon list that I made to all the tools and materials.

Anyways, I'm much better at showing rather than telling so check out the video.

(Diameter + Metal Thickness) x 3.14

Here is a list of the tools and materials that I used in this class.

I also picked out some cheaper options when it comes to the different tools.

If you are looking for more tools and materials that I use, well you're in luck! I made a page on my website just for that and I'm updating all the time so bookmark it to stay up to date:

*If you buy any of the tools or materials from my list I will make a small commission at no extra charge to you and it helps support the channel*

If you would like to directly support the channel you can do so in a few different ways.

4. Just watching my videos helps out too and I'm happy to see that I have been able to help some may people get into jewelry making.

I ordered a truck load of tools and supplies after watching this. The silver wire was the first to arrive. I already have a fire extinguisher :) Once I have everything I'll try making a ring.

I liked your finger guards. I use a ring holder, or vise to hold a ring to file or polish it.

I know this video is 3 yrs old but it has been the most detailed one I’ve seen yet. I really want to learn how to make jewelry but unfortunately I can not afford a jewelry school so YT videos are my only option 😊 thank you so much for this one. Im slowly purchasing all the basic tools I need but until then, Im watching and learning as much as I can. I want to start off by making dainty rings like these so my question is, and I dont know if you already have a video on this, but what wire hardness should I get to make dainty rings like these? I want to make sure they handle wear and tear and dont lose shape easily. Thank you so much for your help 😃

Could you make a tutorial on thicker rings? It would be really helpful

All these years I thought there was only 1 type of solder. No wonder I've been puzzled at guys soldering stuff with strong joints, but in metal shop class as a teenager my solder joints were always weak. I really thought solder was a weak joint

Do you think we should put some paste flux on them while annealing them? I bought some pickling flux to help with the fire scale. And I found that it does actually work. And then sometimes it doesn’t and I think that’s because of whatever type gauge thickness you’re using you still going to end up with some type of fire scale...
