House's attending physician (Andre Braugher) finally allows him to get his license back - when there's a will, there's a way (especially when empathy is involved).

From Season 6 Episode 2 ''Broken Part 2'': Season 6 begins with House (Hugh Laurie) as a detoxing patient at a mental hospital. He's being held against his will by his attending physician (Andre Braugher) but concocts an escape plan, aided by his roommate, Alvie (Lin-Manuel Miranda), and a visitor named Lydia (Franka Potente).

This is the official YouTube channel for House M.D.. Watch all of the official clips from the series, the funniest and saddest moments, and follow all of the doctor's most curious cases.

Seeing Alvie’s look at his best friend leaving and that moment of realization that “maybe taking meds like my friend will help me too” is in the top 3 moments for me of the entire series.

Hugh and Andre's chemistry was something special, whenever they interacted I was glued to the screen. 2 incredible actor's bouncing off each other perfectly.

Whats even more inspiring is Alvie managed to get better, and go on to write the worldwide musical sensation Hamilton.

If this was the last scene in the series, I wouldn’t be opposed to it. In this scene, House is off Vicodin, but more importantly he has learned to connect with people and be vulnerable with them. Just like Nolan said, House reached out for help when he was hurting instead of resorting to Vicodin. That’s a complete transformation for House! Also, Chase and Cameron are newly married, Cuddy has the baby she always wanted, 13 and Foreman are still a couple, Taub and his wife have reconciled their differences, and Wilson isn’t dying of cancer. In the Season 8 finale, Cameron and Cuddy are gone, 13 was pushed to the way-side, Taub has two daughters and a complex relationship with each mother of that child, and Wilson has a death sentence of cancer. We were also introduced to two characters who just came in and left for one season. Moreover, House’s main problem with addiction and emotional baggage are not completely resolved. I don’t think the show goes to hell after this, but if you wanted a complete and happy ending, this is where you should stop watching the series.

I felt that they backpedaled House's character quite a bit after this. He seemed more empathetic during the first 2 seasons in particular and we never got to see him there for Wilson as he was dying. His reaction to it would've been the ultimate climax: sadness, tears, emotions we've never seen from him

Some of Houses happiest moments were in that psychiatric hospital.

I love this two parter episode. In my opinion, "Broken" is one of the best episodes of the entire series. It differs in its different environment thus allowing the viewers the opportunity to see House in a different perspective. The writers take complete advantage of these new unique scenarios to masterfully develop the story and the characters.

Idk why the part where he shoves his face in the cake and everyone starts laughing + his hug with Alvie makes me cry every time. To watch someone over 5 seasons be miserable and in pain, and to finally see him happy and at peace in a healthy way... it was tears of joy and relief I let out

I had a hard time quitting vaping. The scene where Alvie turns and accepts his meds to “get better” drove me to quit in no time. Thank you House ❤

Something about Season 6, especially this two-parter beginning, feels like the best place to close the book on House. Whether if it be the two first episodes of the season or continuing to a certain point before the end of the season, I love the direction that the show goes with House as a characters and his development. The next two seasons don't go anywhere new with House and end up undoing most of his development along the way. Season 6 just feels like the good note to end things on.
