FIRST TIME TRYING TURKISH STREET FOOD IN ISTANBUL TURKEY 🇹🇷 TURKEY TRAVEL VLOG

We've arrived in Turkey and after spending the first day getting our bearings we headed out to the streets of Istanbul to try some local Turkish street food.

We picked up a Simet and Corn before sheltering from the rain with a Kumpir in Patsosis on Istiklal Caddesi.

We then had a the famous Doner durum, followed by a fresh juice near the Galata tower. We ventured across the Galata bridge and tried some lokma - which are kind of like a Turkish donut.

We then had the most crazy ice cream experience before trying some Turkish delight.

Turkey is a very safe country. Almost no crime. They have the best food in the world. Their breakfasts are very wholesome and wonderful and very welcoming to tourists. They do not discriminate based on religion, language or race. They say that he who eats and sleeps when his neighbor is hungry is not one of us.

Turkish cuisine👌😋😍My favourite Turkish dishes are: lamb soup, stuffed aubergine and lamb moussaka. According to my belly there are only two other cuisines that can compete with Turkish cuisine: Lebanese and Thai.

Such a fun food tour. Pistachio Turkish delight is well worth trying. You were standing right by the perimeter wall of the British Consulate where you were debating the ice cream. That used to be the back entrance of the consulate, but they closed it off a few years ago when they tightened security arrangements.

Funny Vlog, but maybe you can taste the a) Midye Dolma ( filled Mussels with spicy rice ) b) Kokorec ( Grilled Intatstens in a Bred / sandvich form) c) SAHLEP ( nice hot winter drink made by orchid root, you will love it ...its special only for Turkey because its forbidden to take it out from the Country the type of Orchid ) d) KUMRU Sandvich ( a mixed Sandvich with everything, its huge and its from the Aegean Coast site Izmir/Cesme ) e) Menemen ( Egg dish at breakfast, you can ordered extra with a traditional Turkish Breakfast what we called "SERPME KAHVALTI" )

Great video! Despite the rain, the city appeared bright and colorful.. loved the clear umbrellas and the fun with the ice cream vendor. Looks like you're having warmer weather. Weird to see Kels without a jacket/hoodie! I noticed the Pomegranates at the juice stand. Was pomegranate juice an option? I'd personally want to try the pomegranate Turkish Delight too. I just love pomegranate. Try to find out what kind of fish they're catching off the bridge. So relieved you're eating a bit more veg. 😂

You should also try other turkish delights. These are the classic ones and I don't like them much either tbh
