the most important is using iq where the ball going, and gripping the whole ball with your hands

Thanks this helped a lot. I met these new kids that live really close to me, I've never been a social person so it felt awkward. All 9 of us would play football together on the street. And every time they put me out as the wide receiver I could never catch it. I wasn't afraid of the ball it was my hand posting and my eyes not following the ball. So today I went out there and I did it and they couldn't believe the process I made. Thanks so much man!!!

I’ve played football for two years and I’m getting ready for my first football season at my school, and honestly, the biggest keys as a wr are:

1. Awareness - make sure a db doesn’t come and pick it off.

2. Grip - make sure you hang onto the ball.

3. How the ball lands in your arms/hands. - if it lands in a weird part of your hands, you could risk an incomplete pass.

4. Securing the ball - putting it in your arms or a way that you can hold it better. Not holding it properly can risk a fumble, especially on big hits.

Those are my main tips when you play football. I’m becoming a wr or qb for this season.

I agree with the pinkys together tip for over the shoulder yet I would not recommend having your hands as high. That is showing the DB that you are about to catch the ball and gives them time to make a play on your hands. The things that you need to work on is trusting your hands and catching late. You should catch the ball at your chest not above your eyes. I have been playing football for years and once i started to do this i got a lot more completions and made it harder for DBs to make a play on the ball.

Appreciate this video man, moving to a new county and going to a new school as a freshman.

Never played organized football before only backyard football & etc.

Im 15, 5'11/6'0(With cleats on) and about 130 something and I have ridiculously long arms with a nice vertical jump and Im a long distance runner from when I did track in Middle School. I feel like I can get pretty good at football, just need to bulk up.

the most important thing for me is all around focus, the ball isn’t always a perfect one so an adjustment can be made. i’ve only started playing football and focus and concentration is a big part of running routes and ending then with a catch

I’ve been a natural at catching a football since I was a kid. Didn’t have many catches in hs cause we ran the ball a lot plus we a number of stars who got the ball. Played in various passing leagues in college and used make absolutely remarkable catches. I’m not trying change anyone technique but I basically catch the ball without looking it all the way into my hands (again, I’m not recommending this). I’m middle aged now and I’m trying to teach my 9 yr old daughter and 11 yr autistic son who are both playing flag football the proper way t catch. The biggest issue is that they want to turn their heads sightly because their scared of the ball. Both of them have decent hands so I’m hoping they want to continue to improve. I know it sounds corny but to me catching a football is one of the peaceful things in the world. Nice video bro

Yo I’m about to be a senior next year and I have no football experience, do you think I have a chance to make the high school team?

I’m a seventh grader and I plan on playing in eighth grade, this year was my first time playing football and I like it but i got put at running back, which I was mediocre at best. I wanna be a wr, my main question was that if I have bad eye sight do I need to see clear to catch it consistently?

My most important thing is looking at it and securing it with both hands 🙌

Let me guess you’re here because you’ve just been humiliated by your teammates

I've always had it drilled that hand's were most important, but I find it's more important to trust your QB, even if it seems like the play may aswell be over it's always better to keep running because if you stop you might sell the play entirely
