With an old satellite dish and mirror foil you can very easily make fire. Here are three ways how you can boil water with the power of the sun. There are countries on the world where wood is used to make fire. Forests are very important in the fight against the genesis of deserts.

The methods shown here can help to protect the forests. Green energy.
To gather wood, the time is not necessary.

Thinking of how coal fired and nuclear power plants could be converted to solar fired power plants. I mean all coal and nukes do is boil water. Parabolic mirrors, magnifying

Two questions:

1) How long does a stationary dish work during the day since the rotation of the Earth means the Sun is constantly moving through the sky and therefore light reflects off of it at different angles?

2) If I had three or four of these mirrors focused on different sides of the black tin can, how much higher do you think the temperature would go?

Thank you for this. Information on timing and quantity of water is good to have. I'll be on the lookout for an old satellite dish and already have a load of clean tins waiting painting. Biggest problem is sunshine and Scotland do not blend very often.

Why can't third method be used to desaline the water guess it will be very cost effective since only material required is lens and black can. It might solve the water problem of world.

I'm just wondering, - what is it painted with? And why would you put that in your water⁉️

Would this work if you did the black tin method with just an umbrella covered in aluminum foil instead of the fancy mirror thing?

I was thinking of using Flat Black paint on milk jugs or 5 gallon water bottles and sit them (full of water) in the dierect sunlight to heat water. Your thoughts please?

Heey there. I'm very interested in this kind of technique, I'm thinkiing to create a diy project, a mini steam generator to run a turbine for generating a small amount of electricity. The usual heat here is quite good 30-35C.

I know that colloring black will make heat to be more effectively absorbed by the can. But what paint should I used to coat/color it? And where could I get this kind of mirror? or if I should make one, what material should I use?

Any help will be great, thanks :)
