The ReCap | Ukraine and Transatlantic Security on the Eve of the NATO Summit

The Center for Strategic and International Studies recently led a Congressional delegation (CODEL) to Ukraine as part of an initiative to educate members of Congress on how the war has impacted Ukraine and eastern Europe. The CODEL met with a wide array of groups including government officials from Ukraine, Poland, and Moldova, NGOs and aid organizations working on Ukraine’s rebuilding process, and U.S. officials stationed in Ukraine and neighboring countries to better understand how the U.S. has supported Ukraine since Russia’s invasion in 2022.

Senator Joni Ernst (R-IA) and Representative Tom Suozzi (D-NY) will join Elizabeth Hoffman, Director of Congressional Affairs and a Fellow at CSIS for a fireside chat on their recent trip to Ukraine. The members will reflect on the trip and share their insights into how they saw U.S. aid being used to help the Ukrainian people.
