TIPS FROM SOMEONE WHO RECENTLY GOT THEIR SIDE AERIAL!!

-make sure to always swing your arms back (big, fast swing!) it gives you more momentum. i don’t recommend pulling your arms into your chest, since it doesn’t give you the same lift off effect

-ALWAYS make sure you are using your hurdle to help you spring up into the air. it helps to put more energy into your hurdle and lift off than into your run

-think about jumping up, not forward. the higher you go the easier your aerial will be

-make sure your legs are in a large enough split in the air, so that they’re able to swing above you and touch the ground fast enough

-always keep your chest up!! especially when you land, so you don’t immediately fall down like i did 🥲

-i don’t recommend holding objects in your hand. it’s unsafe, especially if you have to put your hands down for an emergency landing. remember straight arms, and swing them *back*

-overcoming that mental block is HARD!! trust me, it’s been the main thing holding me back. you just have to go for it. if you always seem to be putting you hands down, you can try attempting it on a hill or slope, or a high platform so your hands aren’t able to touch the ground and your legs will have time to swing over. remember to do this safely!

I’m horrible at explaining things but I hope this helped!! best of luck! keep trying and i promise you’ll get it! it took me over 1 year of off and on training before i got it 💀✌🏻

When you jump into the side Ariel thrust your hands back when you run then quickly move it forwards up and out and circle your arms while in mid air it will give you more height more momentum more flow. Use your arms and legs to get more height, momentum, and flow you get better height and then it easier to land solid. The one step you take it needs to be more powerful if you’re not running. You should try a suicide gymnastic move it is a front Ariel walkover but you land on your butt with one leg bent and other one straight. If you can do a side Ariel you can easily do this too.

can almost do this skill level around b- flip as you called in this video ruffly. right shoulder being torked a bit funny apparently.

You kind of did a really good side flip but that’s rlly impressive I’ve got to say 😊
