“they paid me” is so real even outside neurodivergence 😂👌🏻 like it was worth something at least, that’s all that matters in the end 😂

Tbf autism can go either way, my brand would leave me sobbing about your cat that i never met and you'd end up consolling me

"In what way" is a favourite catchphrase of mine.

In your defense she did get a lot of miles out of that cat

“It’s employee appreciation week. We are demonstrating our appreciation for you by trying to change your routine and then shaming you for not doing what we wanted. Do you feel appreciated yet?”

1st clip is so real, i have no idea what people want from me when they ask stuff like that & i can’t have a set answer because it’s different every time

Not autistic just ADHD but YES that first clip 😭 the STRESS and exhaustion of trying to figure out what people are asking or saying. Its like a secret code but not the fun type - im not trying to be quiet or rude just ask/say what you mean and i will talk your head off!

People trying to share food with me is always so awkward and I end up feeling guilty. On top of breaking my routine, I have to worry that it contains ingredients I'm sensitive to and which will totally wreck my guts and mental health for days or weeks. Asking what's in it has not always protected me from this as people forget, don't know, etc. Plus it makes me feel like I'm being fussy and ungrateful. Still, I'd rather be loving to myself by only eating things that are safe and nourishing for me.

"may say the 'wrong' thing in an effort to be helpful" AND NOT REALISE IT AT ALL. Yep.
Another suuuuper helpful video. ❤

The pressure ppl will put on you to make you fit in is ridiculous sometimes. They mean well, but some of us LIKE being left alone 😔

Remote work has really saved me. I hated the”pop-ups” at my desk. 😅

21 is ancient for a cat. When my grandpa died at 91 and people said, "I'm sorry, " I said, "Don't be. We're celebrating he lived 91 years. That's impressive!" 😁

0:41 Single most relatable clip.

All the mandatory employee "appreciation" socials that everybody thinks are so much fun, but to me are just annoying and uncomfortable.

‘I eat my lunch in here on Thursdays’
Fair enough…

As an autistic person, this is certainly relatable.

My cat died at age 21, which I realize is old for a cat, but it didn’t feel like we had long enough together. I wish I could have had another 21 years or more with him. Yesterday was the first anniversary of his death, so this video hit me hard. I’m autistic, and I’ve always been closer to animals than most people. To me, losing my cat was losing a family member. Questions about when we might get another cat were very painful right after he died because he was not an object to be replaced. I understand no one said it to be mean or uncaring, but it felt that way. Even my best friend said it. I get that it’s not something we are really taught how to handle. I’d advise anyone who doesn’t know how to respond to a pet loss to respond similarly to someone telling you their human family member died. Say you’re sorry and maybe say something like you know hard it is to lose a loved one (if you do). If they’re your friend, maybe offer a hug, consider sending a sympathy card, and call to check on them once a week for a few weeks to see if they need anything. ❤️

"Do you think it was worth your time?
- They paid me."
Yep, a lot of jobs are like that.

What if changing your lunch routine means you shutdown on your drive home from work. It looks like we’re just being stubborn or inflexible or unsocial, but we are genuinely trying to take care of ourselves and manage some kind of work life balance

i've learned to stick to the script when it comes to more serious topics, but i have totally been the "you got a lot of mileage out of that thing" person before 😭 i understand now how that is insensitive and can be hurtful, but to me, trying to make light of a sad/difficult situation or look on the bright side is really helpful. thinking about it in a practical sense can help too, but to others that can come off as very cold. we mean no offense, we are trying to help!
