I just retired from law enforcement after 30 years. DEI was a major reason I retired. I worked in a semi rural area where backup was usually 20 mins away and if needed I didn’t need a 100 lb female or male deputy showing up or an overweight out of shape deputy. They were another problem I didn’t need. When I retired the department had done away with mandatory pt tests and half the new folk could barely qualify with their weapons. Hardly anyone wanted to be proactive. Most appeared to be scared and had no confidence in their own abilities and I absolutely didn’t have any confidence in most of them. They could write a good long winded report tho.
