Hi Nick. I enjoyed your segment on air plants. Much of the info was spot on. The only comment you made that no one really considers themselves an air plant collector is incorrect. There are many of us who are including myself, Air Plant collectors. There are so many varieties to choose from. Starting with just a few eventually becomes many! 👀 🍀

I keep some of my airplant s next to my orchids. They are near both east and south windows. I also provide supplemental plant lights. I put mine in rain water only with a very diluted orchid fertilizer. I do this 2 to times a week and soak them for 1 to 2 hours, depending on humidity. I also mist them daily. I keep a fan on during the day on my plants. I absolutely love airplants and they thrive and grow. They are indeed darling plants that reward me by blooming and making more plants. I grew up around them, playing in live oaks. Probably explains my love for them. I can tell when they are well hydrated as they have a heavier, plumper feel. I’m surprised that you didn’t mention feeding them.

Hi Nick!! I have 3 air plants that have been thriving for 5 years now. The other varieties i had didnt make it this far. Im really hoping they will produce pups!
Thanks for the information! I keep mine on my rack, under LED grow lights in between my hoyas. I would love to get more!

Thank You So Very Much, I have learned So Much from you. You are my Go To Guy, when I have a question. Since your Air Plant Videos, I now have 6, and I set up an Aquarium for them along with Succulents I recently purchased. I have grow lights above and I used, substrate on the bottom with Orchid potting mix. So far they seem happy. My Watch Chain and Ogre Ears are multiplying already. So I know they are happy. ❤️

I found this little black carved hand holding a glass cup, filled with tiny white rocks.... holding this plant. The aesthetic is 💜 & I fell in love.

Didn't know I was buying an air plant.

Now I've got a skele-violin player, his hair is the "pot"....

I always look when I'm at the store, I need more air plants 🪴 😊

Thanks for the shelf idea! Super cute 😉

I have 3 different airplants for now all in the window above my kitchen sink and I love them! You're right about them being underrated and so great for creative displays! I want to collect more even though I wouldn't consider myself a strictly airplant guy. I collect a couple of types of plants but mostly just ones that catch my eye

I’m about to make this even MORE niche 😂😂 I’m gonna be using this for a critically endangered pancake tortoise enclosure

I bought 12 about 2 years ago, still have 10 of them. All are in my kitchen sink window, I have a grow light above the window and made wire hangers for the plants. They also get extra humidity since there is often water running in the sink.

I have a lot of airplants, all different types and sizes.. I display them either in Binga bowls (a load of them on one Binga bowl looks like a tropical smorgasbord), or I hang them with wires upside down off of a curtain rod in various northwest facing windows of my home. I dunk them in a bucket of water approximately once a week (varies a little in summer vs winter), let them dry upside down in my dishrack and then put them back in their respective places. They are happy and sometimes they flower and then I get pups and clumps!

I have only 3 air plants for few years now. I find them incredibly beautiful and awesome to grow. One of them even produced flower this year. I am going to buy few more in the future, and I would recommend them to anyone

I love air plants!! I started with 5 and they keep giving me pups and then the pups get pups. I've noticed that they don't always die after they flower but they do seem to produce pups more readily after they flower.

Hola Nick!
I have 4 air plants, so call myself a collector now 🤭
Currently I was gifted a silver plate holder. 🤔I had to think outside the box because my plates dry in the dishwasher and are stored in cabinet.
I use the apparatus to display my airplants. Xerographica sits inside as if she were a plate. The other 3 hang on top.
Great video pal. Thanks for sharing!
Oh, btw...I soak my babies once a week for 30 minutes. Four months and they seem to like it.

Hi Nick! I’ve been waiting for this video. I am fairly successful with lots of houseplants, but I seem to kill air plants. I needed your advice, thank you!

I keep my tillandsias in a large candle lantern, sort of like a glass cloche but less fragile and with a door.

You can get a decorative piece of driftwood and glue the air plants to it, avoiding putting the glue where the roots come out. The roots will often cling to the wood then. Oddly, the glue does not harm the plants at all. I have two of these arrangements. Also, with the "dusty" looking ones like the Xerographica, the textured surface is how they absorb water and shouldn't be rubbed off. It's possible to buy air plant food that can be mixed in the water.
