ADHD vs AUTISM: Executive Functioning

Показать описание
Executive functions are the ways our brains process and manage information, and by understanding them we can recognise the reasons for many autistic and ADHD behaviours. The same is true for many types of mental ill-health too.
By looking at executive functions it’s also possible to recognise strategies that can help. Which is a big deal! If we know how the brain is actually processing things then we can use strategies that are more likely to be effective.
ADHD and autism can often look similar. You can also have both. They each have some differences in the way their brains handle executive functioning. These differences can sometimes be helpful in telling the two apart.
