I agree with not having dynamic contrast on high, but there are two setting below high. Low is perfectly acceptable if youre finding HDR to be a little too dim.

What he’s saying is, dynamic contrast looks better off on HIS tv. All TVs are different. I have a pro with god of war. On a 4K hdr. I have dynamic contrast on high. Looks incredible. I have a Panasonic tx downstairs 4K hdr. Dynamic contrast on high looks terrible. All TVs are different.

About the dynamic contrast i Tell you already in 2017 that it Ruins HDR (crushing White) and every Video from you was with dynamic contrast high. But thx for the Video and its very nice that you still talk About the ks series. Cause that Series Was amazing.

Leave sharpness at 0 make games looks like crap, blurry and colour washed out make me feel I connect my ps4 with analog VGA cable not HDMI

Sharpness increases detail. If you increase sharpness It brings out so much detail that artifacts begin to appear so it starts looking bad. So yeah you want it fairly low but saying you are turning it down to get more detail is completely backwards. Lowering it hides the detail so that's why you are perceiving it to be of better quality. You arent seeing hard edges.

I find this contradictive. In your newer videos you're praising dynamic contrast and using it on high. What happened @mr4kupscaler ?

I was looking for the perfect screen for games like god of war. This helped out a ton! Thanks bro

Try this!

Backlight 20
Brightness 45
Contrast 100
Sharpness 0
Smartled high
Color temp normal
Dynamic contrast high
Gamma -3 (deep dark levels and brings back detail in bright spots with amazing contrast)

Clearest hdr picture to date

Enjoy

I just purchased a monitor and I wanted to turn down the brightness and it said the dynamic contrast will need to be turned off to do this and I was not sure what it was, now I do.... thank you!

I actually prefer to have it on high or medium. I don't like the dim screen look for games.

Great vid bro. Keep it up. I have a KS8500. I recently updated my settings and damn it makes the game pop.

The KS 8000 manual clearly states that dynamic contrast runs different on hdr than sdr. I literally went to the same spot you did except my monitor was calibrated with a spyderx. With high dynamic contrast I didn't lose that detail. Your TV is obviously set up by eye. 100 contrast? Dynamic contrast shouldn't even be on high it's recommended to be used at low or medium not high. Watch an hdr program on Netflix andhigh causes a loss of detail butnot like on you're screen and in sdr content it washes it out completely. you're also not running the TV on game mode. And it's washed whites with crush blacks not crushed whites. Also with the TV poorly calibrated I'm certain your in game brightness levels are wrong as well.

I just followed someone else's guide, they turned gamma to -3 and brightness to 43 with contrast at 100 and dynamic contrast high and smart led high, using a custom magneta set up and a custom white balance while on game mode....I personally don't like how dark everything looks without dynamic contrast, been playing shadow of war. I have a 65 inch 4K tv with HDR

Great video! In my opinion, I believe that movie mode is the best possible preset for both HDR and SDR.
Give these settings a try on God of War Mr 4k and give me your honest opinion:
-Picture Mode MOVIE
-Backlight 100
-Brightness 50
-Contrast 100
-Sharpness 0
-Color 65
-Dynamic Contrast High
-Smart LED High
-Color Tone Standard

This was absolute crap. You're playing standard mode when it would be game mode. It allows you to be able to seamlessly go between games and videos sources without changing the settings

You have all the artificial crap turned on.

When you use dynamic contrast on hdr content it doesn't wash out the whites at all. It makes the picture brighter. You're in a video game so when you change the value of dynamic contrast between off and high you need to change the in game settings and calibrate the game settings to match the contrast.

Thank you for the effort and your time to show your tv settings. My I ask you how you set the hdr ingame settings? Brightness and Contrast 50 / 50?

Why aren't you using the Game mode for the picture? It's better optimized

Same happens to me on my C1. Having the auto contrast OFF, makes the picture more realistic. WD Legion at night looks fucking amazing.

As for sharpness, I have mine on 25 (mid/ 50%), it looks like the sweet spot.
