If you’re far away from Astel you can just sprint to dodge his beam and once he starts doing his meteor thing, you can just spam roll 3x most of the time it works

Tried this last night for about an hour. The summons remains motionless until attacked. Then it's easily defeated in about 10 seconds. I don't think I ever saw more than 2 arrows fly. I hit it with 3 rot pots in the face and it never lost a hitpoint. Seems like this technique got patched out.

My god. This takes a super hard fight to a 2 hit kill essentially. What I learned that may help people, is to do the breath attack only when he does the big leap and swipe attack from underneath him… you will probably take damage on his follow up, but just get away and heal and chill until you need to do it again halfway though

If you're brave (or dumb) you can also throw night maidens mist underneath him. Such a slept on skill

I have seen that rotten breath in the new patch doesn't chip away much health, applied like 5-6 times

You get a talisman that enhances roar and breath attacks.
You can also hold down the breath to fire multiple times.
It is worth using a tear to reallocate your stats to be able to use it 😊

Idk how you can get him to be rotted that easily, i have to spray it 4-6 times before he even rots the first time

He didnt teleport behind me but he did teleport on top of me

If you're struggling you can use basically any bleed build. I used blood godskin peeler two handed with seppuku ash of war. Stats are

Min13
End43
Str67
Dex38
And the stats aren't built towards a bleed build and this still worked first try. Good luck :)

I'll tell you this Astel frustrates me so much not because of the boss itself but because of the restrictions put on it. The run up is bullshit, theres should be a grace after the coffin but why help out the player, right? Then there's no torrent option. Both of these could have made this a much more balanced fight but nope. Thank you From. Thank you so fucking much.
