If Scots isn't a language, then Frisian definitely isn't a language. In its core it's Dutch with a few different letters and sounds, and a bit of different vocabulary, but it's definitely a form of Dutch and perfectly comprehensible to most Dutchmen

Whoever says Scots is a dialect of English is just deluded. They both diverged in their own sound shifts, grammar, and foreign influence from Middle English. In fact, Scots has their own dialects in of itself. Before English took over as the prestige language in Scotland, Scots was the prestige language.

Scots English developed independently and a long time ago, I'd say it can be considered a separate language
