I am all for marketing and free market capitalism, whatever a company has to do to drive sales. Making something thing seem exclusive is marketing 101, it hacks a FOMO part of our brains. We as the consumer need to decide where the price, value, need charts meet and to buy or pass. You are right, this space is so competitive and the products are so durable, they last forever. If it helps people to be motivated to workout at home, it is a wonderful thing, if it just helps sales, good for that company.

I saw this 🐍bar at Home Gym Con. It looked pretty cool, but I think the $350 price is a little too high I would like it better at $250 like moby dick bar

The Medusa is my 4th barbell, first I got an $50 barbell on amazon, which had a 30 mm diameter and a very bad knurl but did the job I guess, later I upgraded for the California American barbell which is 28 mm and has a great knurl and is beautiful... But is not a powerbar, I still use it for deadlift I love it, but I wanted a powerbar for squat and bench, I got a Rogue Ohio powerbar which is amazing, I will still use it for squats, I always thought I'd like a 3rd bar to have one for each powerlifting lift, not needed but for the fun of it, got the Medusa for bench, and I am actually very happy with it, it may be Titan but this thing feels premium it definitely looks beautiful with the metal engraved cap and the bar colors and engraving, and the knurl is amazing.

They missed the mark on pricing here for sure, drop it to $250 and maybe for some. Personally I like an indestructable bar that outperforms other bars rather than a custom bar, but maybe I just don't have the FOMO since I don't have a full home gym yet.

I hope we get more innovative bars with better tolerances over time rather than just pretty barbells. I know its a near perfect science at this point for most of the big brands, but still... show me something new, not just a new color scheme and end caps; its cool and all but nothing new really.

Either way I'm glad you covered it, I'm always excited to see whats going on in the home gym equipment world and whats popular and trending.

Great way to capture what's going on as always! The Moby Dick bar seems really good for the budget, but I'm kinda shy about how loud it is. Not going to lie, my 45lb walmart bar, that I bought for like $30 on slick deals, has a very small bend in the middle. I'll be eyeing a rep underworld SS double black diamond bar when I get the chance to make it happen financially

I'd rather see some customization options than limited editions. If you could choose your knurl, finish, sleeve length, diameter, maybe a custom laser etched endcap, then I'd be more tempted to drop some dough. The medusa to me is really just a titan bar with a bigger markup. Maybe American Barbell or some boutique outfit could pull something like that off.

I like these type of releases particularly for those that collect barbells and other equipment but the market supply is starting to far exceed the demand. And as far as Titan goes, I don’t think I many people are exactly knocking down doors to get anything limited from them

I did like these at HGC, along with the moby and poeiden bars. But I am not a barbell snob. Ill stick with my stainless double black diamond. I dont need 30 bars 😅

I bought it but it was an easy decision since the only two bars I have are super cheap bars I got on sale for 40$ on Walmart.

Don’t have room and don’t want to make room for any new bars. I like it but I’d prefer to somehow start collecting those end cap “medallions” over new bars at this point
