What the United Kingdom is really after is a free trade agreement with the United States to replace it's participation in the European Union of which it withdrew after Brexit. Drawing up all sorts of arrangements with nice labels attached do not achieve the objective where they are thin in substance. The same applies to the UKUSAUS military alliance with the United States and the United Kingdom already part of NATO the only net beneficiary of this arrangement happens to be Australia.
