Biden and Sunak unveil 'Atlantic Declaration' economic agreement - BBC News

UK firms could gain access to billions in US green funding under new plans announced by Rishi Sunak and Joe Biden.

The Atlantic Declaration would allow British electric car firms access to new US green tax credits and subsidies, steps up co-operation on AI and includes a data protection deal.

The deal may be subject to approval by Congress and state-by-state agreement in the US for some areas.

Even the electric vans used by DPD, tesco... and all the rest are Chinese van (ex LDV), so yeah good deal for Chinese firms i guess

Rishi Sunak is your typical Stanford University educated tech/investment firm manager with a primary focus on securing investment, technology development, and creating IP. He has a strong focus on emerging technology for the UK mirroring the economic superpowers. However he has an enormous mess to clean up from his predecessors to clean up, as well as the problems that come with running a country on a far smaller scale on the world stage.

When politicians set up regulations I expect them to coerce those who do not need to be coerced and after 100 years they will lift restrictions without any explanation. When it come to ai I think the regulations should be simple. Don't develop ais with motivations or emotions of their own. People worry about things like, "what if the ai understands that you are going to turn it off? won't it fight back?". Not if you don't give it a survival instinct. General super intelligence doesn't mean that the ai will develop its own purposes and feelings. I assume we would have to design these things for it. So don't do that.
