Pope Francis slaps woman's hand to free himself after she roughly pulls him

A small, dramatic incident took place during Pope Francis' stroll through St. Peter's Square on new year's eve. The head of the Roman Catholic Church visited the Nativity scene in the middle of Vatican City, and then greeted and interacted with followers gathered in the Square. One woman roughly pulled the pontiff towards herself when he was walking. A visible irritated Francis slapped the woman's hand twice to free himself. His entourage then intervened. Later, the Pope addressed a gathering at St. Peter's Basilica.

Im not even a catholic but for her to grab him is just stupid and disrespectful . What i see is that the Pope slapped her hand to free himslf from her from grabbing him not because he wants to be mean to her or anything. Remember that the Pope is still human and has imperfections like everyone else, so people should stop making a big issue over such a small matter.So yeah that Asisn lady definitely deserved to be slapped !

I am sure that woman spent a lot to get there not to mention all she put into the baskets over the years. she should have gone to Hawaii and get a better greeting. What a perfect excuse for people who want to run Pope Francis and the Catholic Church into the ground. Of all Popes he is probably been the most accessible and now has to apologize for his actions. She had no business reaching out and grabbing the Pope who had already turned and almost pulled him off balance. Remember his age and the schedule he keeps. His actions were in my opinion a reaction to a situation that could've caused him harm. I would hope that Pope Frances has a chat with his security and this doesn't happen again. Look at the tape he had already turned in was walking away when she pulled him. Had he fallen the whole story would've been different but it was so stayed in trying to get rid of her crutches by slapping her hands are human reaction to a dangerous situation. I wonder what the Secret Service would have done in that same situation hadn't been for the Donald. Get over it and pray for him

That woman was rude and pulling at him like that could’ve caused him to fall, or injure his shoulder. Others around her acted respectfully. Her annoying “nails on chalkboard” voice and her death grip were super inappropriate. It was a borderline aggressive/assault action by her. I’ve seen people be arrested/sued for less towards an average citizen. He’s human. His apology was awesome. She owes him one!
