I’ve had 1 allergic reaction like that in my life, I went into hospital via ambulance for something & was sat in a bay waiting to be seen & I went into an anaphylaxis shock. It started by my hands itching like crazy & swelling up. I tried shouting to a nurse but she told me she didn’t have time to see me as they were seeing to a cardiac patient, that’s when I realised my airways were closing up. If it wasn’t for my parents arriving a few moments later I probably wouldn’t be here. The bay filled up with 2 doctors & 3 nurses, I was given 2 lots of adrenaline & 3 nebulisers as I’m asthmatic any way, then placed on oxygen for a while. It was a reaction to medication. Definitely frightening. Feel for this lady, especially not knowing the cause. So glad the paramedics were able to help! X

As someone who has never had any allergies before in their life, I reacted to a berry mix and almost died from it just after I turned 24… keep in mind I’d been eating berries my whole life. It’s beyond scary and ridiculously confusing when you’ve eaten what you’re reacting to before! I’ve since been educated by my (multiple) allergists that your allergens can overreact and cause you to go into anaphylaxis without you actually being allergic to anything permanently! If you know anyone with allergies, temporary or permanent, PLEASE carry an epi pen! It saved my life twice from an allergy I “didn’t have”

She said she had salmon, maybe that was the culprit, you can develop fish allergies later in life as other triggers like shellfish.

I don't know why.. but the paramedic moving the patient's hair from their face at 2:40... really shows you how much they care for their job and their patients. And at 2:55, the touch on the thigh.. they mean well!

After 1 reaction they get an epi-pen! up here (NE England) you have to go through this multiple times to start being tested before you even think about getting an epipen! I've had 4? reactions now and still no allergy testing or epipens! Glad they're getting treatment

This just happened to me and it was the scariest thing that I’ve ever experienced. Had to be rushed to the ER and could barely breathe within minutes. Surprisingly it was from blueberries. Something I eat every day and then all of a sudden developed an allergy to.

Ive had severe Anaphylaxis and shock quite a few times. An allerigic reaction will be calmed down with Benadryl or any antihistamine. Anaphylaxis is two or more body systems being affected. For me, tummy cramps, nausea, full body tinkling, sweating and excessively hot, loss of vision, unconscious from blood pressure drop. Swelling may be in the face or not. Swellingvdoes occur on the inside, throat, tounge, airways. I turn red but never developed hives in these instances. I have had hives at other times with no other symptons. I have had a swollen face and no other symptoms. Learn the difference between a simple allergic reaction and anaphylaxis. Keep liquid Benadryl on hand. Anyone that does suffer a two system response should keep an Epipen. Anaphylaxis can happen for any reason. Don't be afraid or omitt various foods out of overcaution. Underlying health issues can cause an abnormal autoimmune response that has nothing to do with food. Read up and research.

That poor woman, I just wanted to give her a massive hug! I can't imagine the fear you'd have with your throat closing up and your tongue swelling, that's something I don't ever want anyone to experience, she said "Yeah it was a little scary" I'm like naaah it was shit ya pants scary that!

i had ibuprofen in 2009 i became allergic to i used to use it for swelling in my lower back then octopus once in 2012. then detergent in 2021. so ive been worried about the usual food allergies since. i wish i could have an epipen on me in case i find yet another allergy to something. that poor woman.
my very first one i wasn't scared ( was in middle of training an new employee and thought i was just having an asthma attack which i tried to hide but something didn't seem right. i was told three times " i really think u need to go to the urgent care " told her its just my asthma she was like no.... u really should go. so i left with the bottle i just bought of ibuprofen not knowing why ( she wouldn't tell me what i looked like) it was the ppl in the waiting room that made me freak out. i was yanked into the back. then when i stopped being half passed out i asked what the hell i looked like. i never noticed my neck was past my chin ( black, blue and red with lots of veins popping out) because i got it early it took only 2 children liquid Benadryl caps

I’m in my late 30’s all of a sudden developed a reaction to cayenne or anything derived from capsicum. Lucky for me we narrowed it down quickly due to my food tracking. It’s gotten so bad that I now have an epi pen.
