God, every time I see the Rings open across the blue surface of the Ring Station interior, that beautiful swell of triumphant music, always makes me cry a little. Imagine living to see something as miraculous as that. A brand new childhood for humanity. A whole new frontier.

I really love how the Protomolecule has more or less adopted Miller as its personification to humans, for a 2, 000, 000, 000 year old set of instructions it has some pretty good style once it gets some higher function capabilities.

I love the callback to Clarissa Maos first scene on s3 when Ren (the other mechanic she later kills after he finds her bomb) teaches her that putting in the buffers the wrong way will make system after system go dark, powering down the entire vessel at the end.

And I`ve been watching since The Outer Limits (1963), when intelligent scifi was starting to appear.

I love, all these years later, how the writing was amazingly well thought out. The look on Ashford’s face was one of fear. Not of what would happen to him personally but instead the dread of what the unknown and what the opening of the ring gates might mean. He knew humans wouldn’t peacefully explore, he knew everything that they were was going to end in flames. He wanted to save all of the children like how he failed to save his daughter. Sorry rambling now.

The fucking tease of the Unknown Aggressors at the end there got me. Those fucks are genuinely terrifying just to read about. I can’t wait for the rest of the series to be put to screen so we can see some more of them.

I gasped when I saw the the other rings opening. When I started to see how many were opening, I almost cried.

The Expanse felt so real, and to see the stars, 1300 habitable systems, open up to humanity, I was so excited.

But terror returned when I saw *Them* lurking in The Space Between.

I am pleasently surprised how good this is.
The characters all fit, the language they speak. All works with the story
