I sort of did this in me and my daughter's world, but I didn't know about the 'copy world', or 'locate' command thing. I created a new world with our own seed then spent a few hours looking under mountains, flying about in creative mode. Was a pain in the arse, but found one eventually (was gonna say 'found one in the end', but I didn't find it in the End, I found it in the Overworld).

We finished plundering the ruins this afternoon, but we had left one Sculk Shrieker for us to activate a Warden for old time's sake before leaving as we knew how to evade him easily. I had 59 levels of XP and my daughter had 49. Long story short, we both messed up and lost all our XP to his sonic blast. I took her to the supermarket and bought her a box of chocolates to cheer her up.

We are on an ipad. I found this ancient city by digging down to -40 and then around (I read that -40 is where you find these places), took us forever, here's what my grandgirl found at 607, -50, -1483 and she found her first build that we lost a few years ago, we also found a meadow with flowers, didn't take a screenshot, unfortunately. I also do the minecraft weekly event for middle schoolers at my local library. There's a waiting list.

I just come across your video and apparently now you can’t locate locations such as temples mine shafts is this apart of the update because it only shows biomes

Does the copy world trick work on Nintendo switches?

Cause it didn’t work for me.

I tried it on the PlayStation4 edition but it just said syntax error: unexpected "ancient_city": at "/locate >>ancient_city<<

This doesnt work for xbox series s just says
