When creating or editing the share, that window (through the control panel) is the only spot where it might be confusing. I would suggest just setting up the share with the default permissions (admin only), then going back and adjusting the permissions through the File Station so that it will show all users and groups, including the domain users and groups shown with domain\user. You will also benefit from the permission inspector and explicit inherited permissions.

What version of AD does this support? I heard you mention that its powered by SAMBA. I ask because I'm wondering if this can be used with Offfice 365. On a Windows server you would have AD Connect running to sync between on prem AD and Azure AD. Is this something that can be done with Synology's solution?

Hi, how do I allow a specific domain user to install an app locally on his computer without me, as an administrator of the Synology Active Directory, needing to log in with my account so we can install the VLC player on his computer, for instance?

U said u will do networking, routers and switches next week. Can u do Synology Active Directory across multiple VPN site-to-site links? How does it work? Synology can have only one domain. It can have sub domain ? Have u done Synology with multiple subdomains with multiple remote offices with VPN links. Do u use Synology or router VPN server for that?
