The people who should be on trial are those that recruited those officers

There is an old saying in the Police Community.
If you can't get a place in any constabulary, apply to the Met or the British Transport Police.
They take anyone.
The absolute dregs of British Policing.
Always have been.

I live in the borough where Chehab committed the crimes, which predate his joining the force. This demonstrates a failure in vetting, for starters. It eventually came to light in July 2021 when the family of one of the girls complained he'd started in on her when she was 15. The man's 22, in passing. It took a month for him to be arrested, two more for him to be suspended from duty, and another year for him to be charged. Five months later, it becomes known.

If it is 2 to 3 officers a week in the Met.Police, that means all officers in the
Met.Police, from the officer on the street, to the Commissioner will have their
turn.

I joined Bedfordshire Police in 1975, was proud to serve the people of Bedfordshire. To join, there existed stringent checks, references, all to ensure honesty and integrity. If only such checks were carried out today.
