I'm your host, Darren Van Dam!

Tired of looking for good movies to watch on Netflix, Amazon Prime or other streaming services? Every week I recommend a handful of the best movies on Netflix, Amazon, HBO etc. so my subscribers never run out of good movies to watch on streaming. Spending 10 minutes watching one of my videos could save you hours of searching, hours that you could otherwise spend watching good movies on streaming that you otherwise might not have ever watched or even known about.

"You're Next" has one of the smartest horror protagonist! Really enjoyed it.

The Autopsy of Jane Doe really surprised me, in a good way. Super creepy.

The Ritual is such a great one. I remember that scene of the creature so vividly that three years later I had my partner watch it.
I just had to have someone else see the true horror and scream 😂

You're Next and Autopsy of Jane Doe were phenomenal stories that will make you say "didn't see that coming" with a huge smile on your face. ABSOLUTELY loved both of them...

I watched The Autopsy of Jane Doe a few years back after I saw you recommend it. I I am NOT a horror guy. I think they are mostly the same, dumb, make you jump and scream movie. This one will be a classic in the end. If you haven't seen it, do so.

Thanks for doing what you do with such crap we are forced into watching. Jane Doe is one of the Gems you have recommended that keep me coming back.

A) Great recommendations all around. You always do a fantastic job with these.

B) You’re Next is not a “slasher, ” it’s a “home invasion” movie (just like The Strangers, which you also mentioned).

I believe "The Autopsy of Jane Doe " is the benchmark for Horror Movies because I see it on top of almost every Top Ten list every year. I on the other hand look for Best moments in movies because those are the ones that last. So seeing writing where it shouldn't be on skin, bones broken with on signs of struggle, parts missing. Yeah, that creeped the fuck out of me.

This list is so great! I thought I had seen all the good scary movies on Netflix and there are several on this list that I haven’t seen or heard of. Thanks so much!!

Not a big horror movie guy, but the "Evil Dead" films are fun, and the first "Insidious" was incredible. And "The Autopsy of Jane Doe" was intriguing!

You’re Next is one of my favorite horror movies! It’s up there with Funny Games, Martyrs, High Tension, The Strangers, The Descent 👍🏼 When the sister dies… that just set it right off! lol I love the lead in You’re Next, and I even appreciated the humor which I don’t typically enjoy.

Lots of adds for me this time, thanks! The Ritual was something that had me searching for more of the same for a while last year. This one was great 👍. As above so below was also way better then I thought it would be.

The Wailing is a masterpiece. As Above, So Below has made its way to my top 10 in horror. Not a perfect film but the surreal cosmic horror element of "this space should not be physically possible" is something I love. The Ritual is great but the book is better imo. Creep and Creep 2 are great, and The Autopsy of Jane Doe is a modern cult classic.

My recs for the season:
- The Empty Man
- The Eyes of My Mother
- Final Prayer (aka The Borderlands)
- Kill List
- The House of the Devil
- Shutter (original Thai version)

Great list! Evil Dead Rise goes HARD. I would say it's the scariest on the list personally, but still every movie on here is a great choice.

“Veronica” has, bar none, one of the best nightmare scenes ever put into a horror movie. If you’ve seen it, you’ll know the one I’m talking about.

I enjoyed The Autopsy of Jane Doe and As Above So Below, but it's been a while. Time for a re-watch! I think I might have seen Veronica as well, but I'm remembering it differently. 🤔

Love your channel! Seen 6 of your 10 already before. The Wailing gripped me. It was akin to Ring. For me, the effectivity of horror movies isn’t what it does to you in its unfolding, but in the aftemath lingering when you are alone in the days following after watching the movie. Like going to bed, or even during showering😅! Your imagination takes you away, and it’s your own little voyage after that, no holds barred😂! Have a great Halloween everyone!
