The ten minute, uncut, love scene between Kong and Godzilla was a bit too much for me. Five minutes would've been plenty for me to be honest.

Went to see this this morning in 3D iMax with my 8 year old son & his mate. They absolutely loved it - massive wrestling monsters spitting radioactive breath & ice at each other. What’s not to like? The inner 8 year old in me loved it too & I’m 47! Not a patch on Godzilla Minus One, but it was never meant to be, was it??

If you didn't go in knowing it was going to be big dumb fun I can't help you. Me and my kids all loved it. Like playing with your action figures as a kid. Dan Stevens kept the entire attitude of the film in track. Have a good time. Godzilla Minus One was my favorite film of last year and I'm so glad that so many versions of the same characters can exist up on the screen. Good times.

Kermode didn't get it. Almost all of his complaints are things people praise the Showa era silly movies for.

I found it oddly enjoyable, though that may have been watching my 2 kids (8&11) reacting to it. When Kong picks Suko up and bashes other apes with him, my 8yo screamed with joy and has told everyone he can what a great movie it is

I really liked the movie. It was really good fun. The "what you saying now I've brought my boy" scene was hilarious.
