The fact that he had the opportunity to remake one of his favorite movies, but chose not to because he couldn’t do it justice speaks to his character, integrity and love of film

This man is slowly but surely becoming one of my favorite actors, always a joy to hear him talk

The fact that he wanted to remake Onibaba and didn’t because he RESPECTED the source material so much that he didn’t end up doing it, makes him fucking even more awesome in my book. If you’re gonna remake something it cannot disrespect the source material. Cronenbergs the fly is a perfect example of an amazing remake.❤

He has the most unique voice, he sounds like he’s from everywhere and no where.

He would CRUSH it in a Onibaba remake. That would be terrifying.

I could genuinely listen to Willem Dafoe talk for ever, he just spills wisdom and fun in the smallest of anecdotes. He has lived a really interesting life. It also helps that he has such a nice voice to listen to.

There was a time that I was running a video store in Orlando, Florida and we were one of the only stores to carry Last Temptation. Had a few people come in and complain. One day an older couple came in, the seemed sweet enough and asked to buy our copy. Turns out they were Willem's parents. The story gets better as years later the first big Hollywood film I wrote on was "Pavilion of Women" starring....Willem Dafoe.

For the love of Neptune, give Willem Dafoe the Oscar he's waited for a long time.

"Platoon" is the greatest war movie of all time, and Willem Dafoe's performance in it is one of the best of all time.
