It’s been many years since I’ve practiced. I made it about 1/3 through Suzuki book 1, and I’m finally ready to pick it up and practice again.

I had a bad breakup and quit everything for many years and as a result I’ve forgotten most of what I’ve learned, however I’m excited to get back to it and to one day be able to play pieces I could only dream of!

Thank you so much for these lessons. I returned to playing after a 55 year hiatus and I’ve progressed, now playing in a community orchestra. Recently my young neighbor told me she wanted to play violin, so to help her get started I’m going to play your videos as they are so clear for a beginner and for an intermediate player (me). Really happy to have found this. Once upon a time I played well enough to be first chair second violin in high school. (I chose to stay in second violin because I have always enjoyed playing harmony.) Unfortunately I lost my violin in a burglary many years ago. I purchased a new one a few years ago, but rarely play because my technique and intonation is so off from lack of practice and I didn't know how to get it back (which put me off practicing!)

Now a few more years passed, and I found a poor broken violin in an antique shop and purchased it because it was so interesting and unique. I didn't know if it could ever be made whole again, but a friend took it to a luthier friend of hers, and I just recently got it back. It's not only playable but it has a beautiful sound and I'm inspired to play it. So here I am, starting at the beginning in order to relearn proper technique which will hopefully improve my muscle memory and intonation.

Two lessons in and I already feel like my bowing is stronger. Thank you.
