I finally put my first commercial indie game, Couch Combat, on Steam, so how did much money did it make in the first month? And what are my future plans? And who is actually asking these questions? IDK I'm just writing the description and trying to put as many keywords as possible, Dani Mr Beast Amogus.

Join My Pateron for an exclusive Couch Combat Beta:

You've made a game, marketed it, and got some sales. Not only can you include that in your portfolio/resume but you can be proud of the work that you did.

Good Job. You inspire others like myself to make games

The fact that you worked hard and released a game at all is amazing. It sounds like you understand that and how much value you get from the process itself. And on top of that your still in high school which kinda blows my mind. Keep up the good work dude!

Not many devs actually follow through with their work all the way. It takes dedication, so congrats!

Just want you to know how inspirational you are. I just started watching some of your videos a few days ago… I had no idea you’re in high school. I’m 25 and you’re finally getting me off my lazy ass to start game development like I’ve said I would do over the past 6 years. Good work dude and I look forward to future content and games by you!

Not to sound mean or anything but I kinda expected these kind of results. Not because your a bad game developer but because of the genre of the game. The Co-Op Arena Battle type games are heavily competitive with games like Smash Bros, Injustice, Brawhalla, Stick Fight, Mortal Combat etc. A game experience like this could be easily recreated in any modern fps game like COD just by going in the settings and putting 1v1 or 2v2. Overall the game changing effects was a nice touch but I don’t think something like this would have a large audience. It’s difficult to pin point what exactly you could’ve done to get better results. But personally if I saw a game like this, I’d expect it to be free since it provides a more simpler gameplay loop, I think in order for games to charge, there should be more content to merit such a price.

Regardless I think you did well and can’t wait to see you make a lot more profitable games :)

Something I've found about dev-log related marketing is that a lot of people (Including Myself) will simply wishlist your game to support you, or out of curiosity to see how it performs but with no interest in actually playing it. That's why the wishlist conversion rates are so low on "Youtuber Games"

Your game is quite incredible and I am looking to go into Indie Development myself so I can say you're doing awesome 😎. Stay proud and don't lose your creativity ✨

online multiplayer for a pvp shooter on steam is essential, Mirror for Unity is extremely hard to learn tho, especially if you intend to do alot of your code server side and not client side, i respect the ambition tho

Congrats launching a game that you worked on for years. That’s a huge accomplishment in itself.

It would be difficult as I can imagine but perhaps you could add in a Map Creator? Players can easily get lost there just making rounds. And you can let these players add these created maps into their Round list.

The Map Creator would just use assets you already have in the game and plots of land of different sizes and colors I guess.

I'm so glad you're adding online, because that's the only reason why I haven't bought it yet.

A small complaint i have is when you land after jumping it doesnt have nearly enough impact as it should, i think you could try to add a bit of smoke when you land, and pan down the camera to give it extra impact

I wish you the best of luck with selling your game it is very difficult to have a game that makes a large profit as an indie developer and it being your first game released on steam
