The easiest bottle neck slide ever

Here is the easiest way to make an authentic bottle neck slide...contrary to other tutorials I've seen using a dremel tool or soaking twine in kerosene, or using some coal fired antique bottle snipper...this IS without a doubt, the easiest, simplest way to make your own homemade bottle neck slide.

Thanks to your video, there's now a glass slide made from a sause bottle in rural Borneo and a kid who's playing slide guitar like a badass. Thanks for sharing this knowledge!

This is the best video ever. Simple, no fire, no candles etc. Wooden holder makes easy to get a perfect turn and cut. Thanks, man.

Thanks so much for the tip about spinning the bottle on your workbench. I tried holding it while cutting and the line was all wavy. Cant wait to try this.

8 years later, I tried this. Still works great. Make sure you score the line perfectly. If you don't the cut will be crooked. If it is not that bad, you can use a piece of glass with 60 grit sand paper to even it out. Also, use the appropriate face mask so you don't inhale the glass dust.

Fantastic! Thanks very much for this tutorial. I used two types of sandpaper. First very robust for basic finish and then 1000 to make the edges polished. 100% working. Best wishes👍

Thanks for the video. I was trying to think of a jig that was simple; yours should work perfectly. I will give it a try this weekend.

Looks even safer and easier than the other video on how to do this. It's not how they did it in the old days but who cares right? Can't wait to try, thanks.

Awesome, gonna make one tomorrow. Great band by the way! I just recently bought a cigar box uke, I had never seen anything like it before so I had to have it. Love the cigar box band, plus the music is just awesome!

Hay dude sick video i'm defiantly going to give this a try. :)

For people wanting to know an alternative too using a glass

If you get a piece of string and soak it in a flammable liquid, tie that around the bottle on the area you want it to snap, light the string on fire leave it to heat the bottle for a few seconds then put the bottle in cold water it should pop off just the same. We use to make our weed bongs this way haha amazing how stoner craftsmanship can be used in lots of different areas
