Tree things you need to know about slide guitar *bad to the bone* the first thing is if you want the cleanest sound possible you need to mute the string on that side of the slide because otherwise your gonna hear a combination tone in the background *overtones* 2nd thing is since this is like a movable fret you can go play way higher than the fret board *bypasses fret board* fird and last thing you can use any hard object as a slide *plays bad to the bone with a bottleneck*

Also as a fun fact you can use a loose capo as a slide

When I first started learning slide, I used a small ship in a bottle. Now, I still use it, but just for the looks.

Me and my sister both use old sockets from ratchet wrenches, a little greasy but it makes a fine tone and is pretty easy to hang on to. Also you can take the whole socket rack and find which size fits the finger you're using best...
