Quick Tip - Using the Magic Mask with the Planar Tracker in DaVinci Resolve Fusion

Показать описание
In this quick tip tutorial we will take a look at a way we can use the Magic Mask in DaVinci Fusion to occlude objects we don't want to track with the Planar Tracker. We will use the Bitmap node to turn our alpha, from the magic mask, into a mask that the planar tracker will recognize. Doing so can help with the accuracy of the track. Lastly we will finish off the shot by putting text behind the biker as he moves through the shot.

This is great. First, you really do deserve a larger audience for the advanced stuff you put out. Second, I'm super impressed with your problem solving, bitmap, etc. I want to learn to be this intuitive with Fusion!

nice one! so nice to see magic mask improving fidelity and precision. When it first came out it was so sloppy I thought it would be a dud. What I wouldn't have given to have a tool like this a decade ago when I was roto'ing by hand key framing splines ha ha.. thanks for the tut, love your stuff. you've saved me numerous times in the past.

after many attempts, I did not manage to do a tracking on my footage, maybe because it is too difficult (panning, character moving over the frame), but still your video is very clear and useful

Thanks for this tutorial! Question: When I put the PlanarTracker in Corner Pin mode, it looks like I don't need to use the Bitmap. When I do tests with or without, the tracking is done well in both. Does "Cornor Pin" already manage this mode without Bitmap? Thanks again for everything you do. Truly, you one of the best!

I tried to use this technique with the planar tracker in fusion with a pre-magic masked and rendered matte from the color page. I fed it into the bitmap node then into occulusion mask but it wasn’t working. Does the magic mask need to be used on the source footage for this to work and can you use outside mattes

Man it's sad to see u not getting the attention you deserve because you saved my ass more than I can On the topic of tracking I've watched a video of you using the tracking data from Syntheyes, My question is Syntheyes or Mocha pro, What do you recommend and what is the difference between them?
