Stylish and sporty with a roomy, feature-rich interior, the all-new 2023 Honda HR-V gains aspirational qualities beyond its segment. A larger, more responsive engine, an all-new platform with a smooth-riding independent rear suspension, and a clean, high-tech interior with standard digital instrumentation display and Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ compatibility, take HR-V to a new level. The new HR-V will begin arriving at dealerships in early June.

The new second-generation HR-V was designed and engineered without compromise. Longer and wider, it's more comfortable yet also sportier and more fun-to-drive than its predecessor, while featuring more rear seat legroom and one of the largest cargo areas in its class. For a smoother ride, HR-V's wheelbase has been extended and its tracks are significantly wider, creating an athletic stance and improving stability. Class-leading safety features include standard Honda Sensing®, next-gen front airbags, as well as standard side-impact and front occupant knee airbags.

'The new Honda HR-V is just the right size for young, active buyers looking for a sporty driving experience, and plenty of space and utility for an adventurous weekend escape,' said Michael Kistemaker, assistant vice president, Honda National Sales, American Honda Motor Co., Inc. 'This new HR-V will welcome a new generation of customers to Honda, and we look to grow its position as the segment leader with young buyers, first-time buyers, and multicultural customers.'

I was considering this vs 23 cross hybrid, however, seeing the lethargic engine power, mpg, no USB or vents in the rear, and no armrest pulldown ... this is a no-go

I love how this car looks, but it's way underpowered for how large the vehicle is now. Seriously needs a turbo and hybrid option and fast seeing that the Corolla Cross might blow this out of the water if the anemic 2.0L is all that's available for the next few years.

Just get the civic hatch, alsmost same cargo capacity and mostly much more fun to drive and fuel efficient.

I wonder why Honda America uses a different styling for the new HR-V..
It's very different to the new ones coming to Asia & Europe which I honestly prefer more in terms of design with it's flushed & body colored grille. I don't know it's just look more cohesive than the US version.

I mean its a decent competitor to the regular gas corolla cross but the newly released corolla cross hybrid blows this out of the water in terms of powertrain. The HRV might be better in size but that 158 hp is gonna feel lethargic pulling that weight around

Would be nice to see you compare the HR-V and the Corolla Cross!

If it wasn't for the Honda badge I would never guess this to be a Honda product

I was literally waiting to possibly buy this ever since it was released in Europe. The 2.0 non-turbo is a deal breaker. What a disappointment.

You know they come out with this kind of cool looking vehicle and then they barely give it a power bump which is nothing in the scheme of things. You would think that’s not enough HP to pull the extra weight! 😜😜😜

I agree that FL is a beautiful place, sure beats the bleak days and nights I lived in Omaha, only reason to go back is to visit the kids. I love Punta Gorda, FL

With Honda essentially putting more sales pressure on the now entry level HR-V after the Fit discontinued, Honda really had a chance to come out swinging and offer perhaps 5 trim levels with many more options on a higher trim level (eg Honda Sensing 360). Maybe more trims will be offered in future years, but a bit disappointing in the first year of a major redesign.

This country has many beautiful places, but our Florida is just very unique and unless any other place in US. It is not for everyone (thank god)! Oh love this HRV BTW!

The funny thing about the decrease in HRV's fuel economy is that the 2016 Civic 2.0 had higher fuel economy than the 2015 Civic. Both went from R18 to K20C2
2015 Civic 1.8 CVT: 30 city, 33 combined, 39 highway
2016 Civic 2.0 CVT: 31 city, 35 combined, 41 highway
I don't really get how fuel economy could decrease from this change in engine choice when another model had increased fuel economy from the exact same change in engine choice

When are you heading to Portland for the media drive?

Honda needs to understand the market they are in for the USA. The hrv with the 1.5t would bring in more buyers and a tune on that motor makes it genuinely peppy. Paired with the cvt it would surprise you for how much it continues to push for a small engine.

In this review was rear "Magic, fold flat / back / forward, Seats" mentioned here as a 2023 HRV interior standard feature?

At least Honda's replacing the outdated HRV with a redrsign. Makes me wonder what's taking Nissan so long to give us a redesigned Rogue Sport

Wow. It's aimed STRAIGHT at the Seltos. Feature for feature, tuning knob, touch lights and all
