You know it’s so sad to think that the Dog was probably very scared because of there previous owner. It scares me that people could be so cruel to another being and get them so scared to the point that they don’t trust any other human for a while that’s more than just scaring an animal it’s traumatizing an animal. But I am very glad there was a happy ending to this.

I adopted a cat like this from Seattle Humane. She was facing the back corner of her little kennel, they said she’d been like that for over a month and a half. They weren’t sure of her original circumstances but apparently she had been successfully adopted out (probably only because of her beauty/breed) but returned each time. Anyway, I knew she was going to be a LONG haul, may-never-come-around, one. It’s been years, she’s gotten a bit better but she’s still terrified of anyone but me, every man is a monster in her eyes, and still runs every single time I walk by her, especially scared when I have shoes/boots on, along with a long list of other more difficult behavioral issues.

Anyway, just saying that there’s still some of us out here, willing to adopt the particularly hard cases.🙋🏻‍♀️
I’m experienced, incredibly patient with her, and promised her that I’d never ever (no matter what) take her back to the shelter… it’s been hard sometimes trust me, but like I said, I’m in for the long haul. The forever haul. 😅🐾❤

Animals like children are trusting creatures. That's why they are the most abused. So for a dog to be this afraid, she or he must have gone through A LOT. I've seen a case through a rescue account on Instagram, where a dog in Indonesia, who is very obviously still feeding her young, was shot multiple times, and beaten into paralysing her lower half. For looking for food in the trash. Sit with that for a bit. Bless you all who have the power and are using this immense power over others to help others. No matter what species.
