Michelle Williams went to Washington, D.C., to demand equal pay for women. The four-time Oscar nominee recounted her own experiences to help pass the Paycheck Fairness Act. “In late 2017, the news broke that I’d been paid less than $1,000 compared to the $1.5 million that my male counterpart had received for the exact same amount of work,” she said. I'm a fashion designer and I started out at a company with 1 year experience at the same time a male did with 10 years experience for the same position. I ended up getting a larger salary because I asked for it, he didn't. Gender doesn't matter, your negotiating skills do.
