Never heard it explained this way before. Thank you, and God bless.

Foreknowledge and predeterminism are completely different and yet usually confused with one another here. We wouldn't need to be told to repent and believe if that was predetermined for us. That is a call for a response on our part. A response God knows we will have before He calls us. Simple.

Some vessels are made for honor, some for destruction. This implies a direct act of creation for a specific purpose, not merely foreseeing.

God said no one chooses Him we love Him BECAUSE He FIRST loves us first

My favorite quote of Frank's is "If you're struggling that much about it then why don't you become one with Christ That way you could be chosen and we all could be happy" I'm paraphrasing of course but that always gets me. Because it's true why get hung up trying to 100% decipher the wisdom of an infinite God with our finite intellect. When instead of being hung up on something we could just choose God and actually be apart of the bigger picture what he meant. Chosen, predestined, who cares. A drowning man will never ask a lifeboat "did you save me by accident"

How I understand it is like this: We all have a path in our hearts that God sees prior to our lives. How we end up there is through the choices we have and the environment we are in. God can see the destination before we can, but we get a choice on what road we take to get there. For those who choose the narrow road, they first will take the broad road, unless you’re Jesus. God draws us who are His, but we have the choice to resist this drawing or follow it. Those who are His, which he can see before they know it, will ultimately choose him, but they’ll follow a personal journey to him.

Excellent answer! One of the best I've ever heard. I love how you make the scriptures understandable. Praise God! We are blessed,

His answer put things together for me that I couldn't explain properly without making it a novel almost lol.

Love the answer, it's both truthful-humbling- and soothing. Glory to God. Thanks Dr. Frank Turek for clearing that up, I've had that same question on my mind- but the answer that I've settled with before is God’s Omniscient Character (All Knowing).

He totally dodged the question: she wasn’t asking about knowledge and causation, she asked about knowledge and will. His example about the sun misses the point. Yes, you know the sun will rise in the east, because it does not have a choice in the matter. Under x conditions, y happens. That’s what knowledge is. And there’s no room in there for free will.

imagine knowing the sun will rise in the east tomorrow and then saying, if the sun rises in the east I'm going to send the sun to hell to be tortured for eternity.

'Just because god knows what we are going to do
doesn't mean he is causing us to do it.'
Yes it does. That is the definition of him causing us to do it.
If I write a program to do a specific task and it completes that task I am the one that made that happen.

It does not say you are predestined to be a follower of Jesus Christ. It says that as a follower of Jesus Christ you are predestined to be an adopted son of God.
God grants unmerited mercy to those who believe.
HE grants the mercy/grace. He judges the heart.
Great answer Mr. Turek
