The first in the new series of semi-annual Chapter Approved supplements are here, with a full retooling of the point values for every army in the game and 18 scenarios for 1000 and 2000pt games. Let's check it out!

A reminder that if you don't like overlong games, there's also Grimdark Future. A game designed to strip out as much unnecessary rules interactions as possible, and streamline the experience. One Page Rules specifically designed their system for speed. Even at a roughly equal sized game (since points costs are different between 40K and GF) are faster, by virtue of not being a slog. And it FEELS faster, with alternating activations.

I will continue to shill for One Page Rules at every opportunity, and ya'll can't stop me.

It's one of the things that annoys me about getting back into 40k, the amount of bookkeeping - AoS seems far more streamlined, and better presented, and the yearly updates work well.

That said, the new mission adjustments seem great, I'm fine about that. Thanks for the review dude

I really like 1500 point games. It's just a comfortable game size and a lot of fun to build army lists for. The only problem is deciding what table size and missions to use since GW doesn't officially support it

I'm very tempted to restart 40k with smaller armies. However, one big concern I have is the frequent points changes. In earlier editions (I'm thinking about 3rd and 4th) it was easy to adjust your army by adding or dropping upgrades like terminator honors, or extra armor on vehicles. But currently it looks like there are fewer options for this.

The Fortifications change is pretty big for us Sisters, as we have one of the actually Good(tm) Fortification, which we might actually be able to use now. Which is nice, because the model rocks, it just wasn't playable before

Love incursion. I pretty much only play incursion size games. Even play in a 1k league at my local store.
I played the first 2k game in about 18 months recently and that was an absolute grind.
I'm with you, no more 2k! But I think 1500 size is probably the absolute sweat spot, being able to bring some big ticket units but not so many points you can load up on spam and makes the game take too long.
All that said, I personally think kill team is a better game than 40k whatever the size. However finding players can be difficult

there are alot of 1k and 1.25k tournaments in my area, and I love them. the game feels ALOT more gritty and when you don't have the toys you gotta think

and fucking A, 1000 point games are legit. I've got 3 x 1000 point faction now, like it's quick, it's been fun, and it spreads my hobby dollar (Pound) a lot further. Then I can just buy stuff at my leisure but still play games. Rather than dipping straight into a 2k army, questioning every single life choice while I'm spending weeks building/painting, and then finding out the army sucks ass haah

Throwing some support behind Incursion level games. My favourite game size, I've long enjoyed 1000pts more and think it's generally a better play experience.

The 2021 wasn’t spiral bound. They stopped that after the first one. Major pain lol
