It's time for another GMG Review! Today we take a look at the latest Codex for 40k, the Chaos Knights. This book expands on the seleciton from Chapter Approved 2018 with new Strategems, Relics, Dreadblades and Alignment abilities with the Infernal and Iconoclast Houses.

I wonder if it would be nice to run a Knight for long range fire support for Thousand Sons. They're medium range at best after all.

Not gonna lie I was kinda hoping for chaos Mark's atleast for the infernal knights and i was hoping to see more of the houses expanded upon and having their own traits cause there are a lot of chaos knight houses we know nothing about. But the book is cool albeit very copy/paste from the imperial knights book which is expected.

With all the ways of buffing move, charge and advance and full tilt I think a chaos cerastus class could charge a model on the enemy's board edge turn 1.

I was thinking could you use that auto perils strategem you mentioned around 27:00 in combo with a daemon strategem that makes you take 2d3 mortal Wounds on perils of the warp

I dont remember the exact point costs of all the imperial knights. But I'm pretty sure that all the weapons cost the same points and that all the imperial/despouler equivalents are supposed to cost the same. What I do know warglaive are 162 same costs and helverins 172 same costs. But a gallant is 352 and its equivalent is the despoiled with sword and fist so if saying only 305 or 305+30 sword+35 fist+ 2 for stuber totaling 372 it it would either be 20pts over costed or 50pts under costed. I think first errata is going to equalize it to 352 taking out that extra entry or imperial gallant may change points to match in what ever direction they choose. Edit: I'm also looking forward to double avenger w/ flamers with vow of carnage, running close to an ork horde and blasting 24 +2d6 shots in to them and then charging in with (4 base+1 icono+ a tenth of what ever you just shot attacks) ×3 titanic feet only to add more attacks to your next attack.

Chaos might even have a better option than the loyal 32, more expensive though:
4 x lords
6 x 10 cultists
13 cps, 64 wounds, 500pts? Then toss in knights to flavor. Could probably do it cheaper I'm sure but im a Guard player, I like my bodies.

Doesn't the rule of three actually increase past 2000 points?
Because how often do you run 4 knights in a 2000 point game?

im confused with Vow of Dominance. If they wound on a 4+ but have a +1 to wound, why would that not go through? It's modified...

it states an unmodified wound, which it isn't

The infernal +1 strength/+1 damage is only to one weapon, so only one Avenger/Autocannon, sadly

No Daemon keywords on renegade knights and the inability to give them a mark of chaos.
