‘Mid-sized, shallow, …’. 🤘🤣🤘One of the most rewarding things about selecting a guitar is allowing the guitar to select you. Even though guitar models are manufactured with easily reproduced specs, the ‘living’ nature of the woods used to make them will yield slightly different tones and feelings within each model. Don’t give up if a ‘great’ guitar is not working for you. Explore. You might want a ginger cat for a pet, but not all ginger cats are the same. One will eventually choose you. The same is true with the spiritual and creative side of a guitar. May you find the ‘One’ … of so many more to come. 😁🎸🎸🎸🎸❤️🍵

I bought the Yamaha FS830 for $350. I am a beginner. Fantastic sounding guitar for the price.

My first guitar (that I paid for myself when i was beginning) was a made in Japan Ibanez in 1985. I didnt realize how nice it was until later. I feel that I was very fortunate. It's still in the rotation with my other guitars.

I have never owned a Washburn I wasn't disappointed with... and I tried to like them- they looked beautiful, but let me down in every other category. My picks from these would be the Yamaha, then the Breedlove, then the Luna, which was a pleasant surprise.

I ordered a few starter guitars for nephews to bang on. When I'd vist them and they would show me what they picked up I was very surpirsed. YOu seem to get more for $300 than you did 15 years ago. My favorite brands are Seagull and Yamaha.

A century ago when I taught guitar to kids the biggest problem was finding guitars that the kids could hold the strings down. Many guitars I could not play b$cause the action was too high.

I have two acoustics, an expensive Huss & Dalton ($4000-5000) and a cheap Breedlove ($300) that I picked up to have a guitar that I don't care if the kids I work with touch or knock over. The Breedlove is great -- stays in tune, easy to play and sounds good.

Thanks for including lefties! It's still crazy to me that we are 12% of the population but less than 2% of guitars are lefty.

The Yamaha is great and the Cordova plus the Taylor just takes the cake

ibanez and yamaha are the most consistent brands. re: cutaway. it does affect the sound. years ago i was shopping for that taylor sound and i ended up liking a 314c, but it was like $2k, so i started playing all the lower end models. the closest i got was a 114e NON-cutaway. the 114c sounded smaller, and as i checked out all the cutaways, i realized they all sounded shallower than the non-cut away versions of the same model. both dreads and grand auditoriums so even tho i'm good on my taylor GA and ibanez dread, i would not get a cutaway in the future should i want another acoustic. (ps those elixer strings are dangerous. they put metal shards into your fingers, be careful)

Thanks for the video! Are you able to tell me the song that you're playing just after the 12:30 mark? Or at least what genre of guitar that would be conisidered? Thank you so much!

I’ve got a Teton acoustic that I absolutely love. Anyone else familiar with Teton?

You can get a Solid Top Wood Fender CD60S for $199, for example. Why would you recommend FA15 with Laminate Top Wood for $149? Highly recommend spending the extra $50 and get a solid top wood if you can afford it. Sweetwater is great, but these recommendations are suspect. Make sure you check the specs of acoustic guitars and that the "Top Wood" has the word "Solid" in it.

Guys, nice playing and video! You feel that the strings of a 3/4 guitar have less tension compared to a normal guitar with both tuned the same (E)?

First to comment. Please now recommend two guitars that one can grow with after the ones in the video. Thanks
