2021 Hyundai Veloster N | Review

The 2021 Hyundai Veloster N takes the exciting hot hatch and makes it more accessible. Previously manual only, the Veloster N is now available with a DCT. Does that mean it's lost its appeal? Absolutely not! This is still a fantastic driving fun machine, and now more people can enjoy it.

As a Veloster owner, I hate it so much when people say that Hyundai should change to an even number of doors. Why would you want to make one of the most unique cars on the market more boring? On a daily basis, I feel like I'm driving a coupe, the door is long and has a nice weight to it and I can't see the B pillar when driving. The 3rd door has so many uses! First of all, the way the door handle has been hidden in the roof/c pillar is great because it preserves that coupe look. My dog sits in the trunk with the seats folded, and having that 3rd door is a must to get him in the car. He wouldn't be able to get in and out without it. Additionally, I frequently have the rear seats folded when I carry large items and I put smaller bags on the floor in the second row which would be extremely difficult to access without the 3rd door. The rear seats are quite usable for people too and it's so convenient for people to hop in the back through that door when there's someone in the passenger seat because then they don't need to get out and fold the seats. Sedans don't feel as sporty and coupes aren't as practical on a daily basis. I get why some don't like the styling and that's fine, just don't buy it. I would be extremely disappointed if Hyundai listens to what some reviewers like you have to say and removes/adds a door because then the Veloster would be like every other car on the market. No hate btw, everyone is entitled to their own opinion but just wanted to say that as a Veloster owner I might not have bought the car if it didn't have 3 doors.

Love the N but would leave the box checked for the manual. Always told myself that if my FoST ever met it's demise, this or the Type R would be it's replacement.

They need to work on the interior now with some alcantara inside on the gauge pod seats door panels and I hope they put the new 2.5 engine in it.

People want something different. The odd door is neat. Why must it be like every other car?

And can we have a REAL man review the car next time. He doesn't like the suspension being stiff or the steering being too heavy ? What happened to the alpha males ?

I wanted a 5 door hatch, this is too boy racer, the new GTI and the R look worse on the outside and inside with all those screens, gloss black plastic, and lack of proper buttons.
