After seeing so many people adding what susu is called in their country, I'd like to add that in Australia, peach is called peach

Susu is called Chow chow here in Sri Lanka.
Most people tend to make chow chow as a curry here😊

In Brazil, susu is called "chuchu". At least, it looks like the same vegetable. Very common here

As a Mexican what you call “su su” I call it “Chayote”. It’s interesting how in different places the name for a vegetable changes so drastically. Also I normally have it in soups😅

This is so true. I am from India and as an asian subcontinent I understand the need for fresh meals 😊

I’m from the Dominican Republic 🇩🇴 we call it “Tayota”, it is very delicious. We eat it stewed with pork sausage, boiled or fried with eggs, Dulce de Tayota (Sweet similar to a Jam), with Cod fish and egg, with Salami and more..

Susu is Chayote in Mexico, originated from Mesoamérica. We use it there too, like in soups. It's like a firm potato.

There’s nothing better than the food you ate growing up, I still love so many of the foods my mum made growing up. ❤

In Jamaican culture susu is called chocho. It’s crunchy like pear but refreshing like cucumber

As a Mexican, seeing the "Su Su" made me audibly gasp. My grandpa owned a Chinese restaurant, and I remember mornings where I'd help peel the "Su Su" (chayote), and learning the hard way that they have have very fine thorns (some times really visible 😂).

Susu is called iskus in Nepal, we typically stir fry it with potatoes or make a broth out of it. Eastern Nepal is known for using it to make dumplings known as momo :)
