I really appreciate that you add the lipstick you are wearing to the description. I've been following you since when you only had the makeup channel, it is a nice touch 😊

Look, I'm a simple girl, I see Captive Prince, I screech. This isn't YA, it's adult, it requires trigger warnings checking, it's not for everyone, etc. Still I loved it, it's one of my favorite series ever, and I'm not ashamed at all. 2nd and 3rd books is where the political intrigue comes in. Then again I wouldn't be surprised if you're gonna trash it. :))

Captive Prince can be quite tough to get through with all the descriptions of what goes on at court with those pleasure slaves, but the slavery aspect is definitely meant to be uncomfortable and not sexy or romantic at all. (That cover rather misses the mark...) IMO the story gets better in the second book of the series, and the first book could be viewed as mostly just setting things up for the story to unfold. The series as a whole also has pretty good character development.

The Captive Prince trilogy is my favourite book series of all time but it is very graphic and there’s lots of TW so be sure to check them. Having said that you absolutely NEED to give it a chance: politics, intrigue, scheming, two amazing main characters… I’ve reread these books so many times I’ve lost count, they’re my go to comfort read 😍

Captive Prince has lots of drama and politics. It's not a cozy romance. Usually I love covers with drawings and the one you're holding is beautiful, but it doesn't suit the mood of that book at all.

Ahahahh, I love Pacat and Captive Prince trilogy, but I'm really not at all sure you'll be able to get thru book 1 (it's more like a prologue, and book 2 is one of my all time fave books because it's damn good). I'm honestly more likely to recommend Pacat's new series Dark Rise.

Six crimson cranes is amazing don’t listen to what the other say! It was a 5 star for me. Yes it is YA so if you don’t like that you wouldn’t like it. It’s a fun fantasy steeped in myths and is an all around great book. You should definitely at least try it. I like the second one even more.

Art of Prophecy is so good and I never hear Booktubers talking about it. Great characters! Hope you love it.

Captive Prince has some SA in the first book that I was really uncomfortable with but the trilogy as a whole turned out to be a great exploration of SA survival and breaking that circle of abuse. Most importantly, the power imbalance between the main characters evens out pretty quickly!

They Never Learn is a favorite of mine. Major dark academia, good for her vibes! Perfect for this time of year.

I love that you buy a lot of used books and/or outlet books. It's always seemed far more practical to me if available, especially when it's one that's been around a bit. I figure that if a book becomes an absolute favorite, THEN I can buy the beautiful special edition. The Dollmakers was high on my list to buy already, but there are a few others you've shown that I'm really interested in now too. Great book haul and so good to see you excited about hauls and reading again!

The Captive Prince trilogy is 100 percent not YA and it's one of those series that people either love or hate. I love it but I feel like you'd be among those who hate it. 😅 But I'd also say that if you really want to get the full grasp of what the series is, you need to at least get to book 2.

Loved both The Art of Prophecy and The Art of Destiny. Waiting for a third installment, which may be logically titled The Art of War.

I loved the Empire of the Wolf trilogy, if that can bump it up your TBR! 😊

The Art of Prophecy is SO GOOD! I feel like the series is so underhyped, and I think you will really enjoy it! I think Taishi is one of my favorite characters of all time.

The Song of the Cell was so good! I read it last year and it was one of my favourite books of the year, for sure!
I read Six Wakes and enjoyed it but still haven't picked up Station Eternity - I'm hoping to enjoy it too whenever I do so (hopefully you like it!)
