Akhenaten pharaoh of Egypt

Показать описание
The coffin of the mummy found in KV55 in the Valley of the Kings in Luxor, Egypt. It is believed that the mummy belongs to Tutankhamun’s father, hence Akhenaten. However, some Egyptologists believe that it is Smenkhare, emphasising that the person is too young to be Tutankhamun’s father. The pharaoh’s name in the cartouche has been chiselled out, consigning the deceased to oblivion, a fate worse than death for the Ancient Egyptians.

Actually they do have Akhenaten's skeleton in the Cairo Museum. Decades ago, it was thought to be Smenkhare, but more recent forensic analysis proves it's the remains of an older man.

Actually the grave robbers were priests.. State sanction Robbery! But this looks more like desecration. I'm curious if his iconic Face Would have been represented On his casket

They stole his gold face mask 🙄 Grave robbers

No cartouche, name unknown

They have a desecrated mummy which is probably Akhntn because he most likely wanted his body to sit out in the sun

This is from KV-55 and is not proven to be the Pharaoh. There is a familial DNA match, but due to incestuous inbreeding it can be said with certainty.

Only the crest of lower Egypt might be smenkare, or neferneferatu
