Why is there no speculation here that Akhenaten was the victim of poisoning by the disenfranchised priests whose gods he banned? The efforts after his death to erase his images and memory in general are evidence of the dislike of him by court officials. Clearly assassination should be considered as likely.

I think he was a visionary! I love everything Egyptian! My bedroom is full of Egyptian things. I love the 1950s movie The Egyptian. Thank you for the video. 😊

I was hoping you'd cover Akhenaten after seeing your Tutankhamun documentary! My mother is a massive egyptology nerd and actually named me after one of his daughters. Which one, I'll keep to myself, but there it is! Loving the videos, looking forward to more.

As a highly supersticious people, would the Egyptians have seen the plauge and deaths of thousands as a bad omen and therefore blamed the new religious reform? Would the only way to restore balance and order be to restore the old religous ways and scrub the nation clean of a practice that angered the Gods?

Nefertiti was not King Tut's mother! This has already been debunked through DNA.

Love how he looks in the thumbnail.
Looking like he is really the father of Tut-Ankh-Amun.

Ha! I was _just_ thinking about suggesting Ahkenaten a little bit ago, after just watching the King Tut video! 😅 I was gonna leave a comment there. Don't have to do that now, I guess!

Cool beans.. you guys are the best!

This guy was up against the corruption of the religion of that day. Imagine going up against the Catholic Church of today and you'll have a good idea of what he was really up against.

I doubt if he was insane.
More likely a visionary.

Akhenaten was born in 1368 B.C. to King Amenhotep III and Queen Taia at the Malkata Palace near Wast (Greek Thebes, Arabic Karnak and Luxor). He was raised there in his youth. He was very close to his mother, and felt intimidated by his father.
