Makita DC18SH vs Fake DC18RD Charger

I had a brand new Makita battery which I put in my branded Makita charger from Screwfix and it also flashed to suggest it was broken however when I press the button on the battery it showed a full charge and it lasted as long as the other battery in the twin pack which also had a full charge but did not show as broken with that flashing green light. Maybe brand new batteries hold slightly more charge than the charger would give and so it thinks there must be a problem.

2 out of 8 is a 25% failure rate.. that's pretty bad imho.
