Suzanne I've never questioned your integrity about the kickstarters that you highlight, but I thought your piece about how you choose was genuinely insightful and worthwhile making. It makes me confident about the projects you show knowing how much you have vetted them.

Tom... Everything being equal, I can understand your POV. Long ago, my mother worked in a chocolate factory... at the end of the day, she didn't crave chocolate. I would feel the way you do... looking at a small mountain of games and jumping in... learning rules, playing the game frequently enough to gain an opinion, etc. . I also think that after playing several thousand games, in your career, you become fond of some types of games, an annoyed with other types of games. Being a career war gamer, I appreciate when Zee reviews games like "Bear Valley", "Neuroshima Hex", "The Grizzled", and Sam comes up with "Bang, The Dice Game", and some smaller games. IF it weren't for you guys I would never have been successfully introduced to Takenoko, Galaxy Trucker, Tokido, or Mansions of Madness. I have come to trust all three of you, each in your way. Thanks again, and keep up the good work. IF it all gets you down, periodically, I fully understand.

I appreciate Suzanne's explanation of her selection process. There was discussion last week as to whether KD:M would appear on the segment, and she addressed it well, without having to overtly say that KD:M is not her kind of game. It is interesting to see which games she picks, and now I have a better insight into those selections.

Suzanne, I was one of those that were frustrated that you never mentioned Massive Darkness, Deep Madness, Siege of the Citidel, and all the other games with plastic monster minis.
However, after seeing your tastes with your top 50, and you now taking the time to address the comments in your segment, I've come to think of you as one of my favorite members of the Dice Tower now. Mainly because you represent such different tastes in games from almost everyone else. I've decided I don't want you to change. I love hearing about things I'd never look at or consider otherwise. Keep on doing what youre doing and I'll love you for it.

Thank you Suzanne for sharing your process of how you decide games to highlight. I really appreciate seeing the process of how you come up with which type of game to showcase. One of my favorite episodes you have made. Thank you.

I try to express my enthusiasm towards the dice tower, it is, by far, my favorite channel. Not only covers one of my favorite hobby's while entertaining but mostly for its great people working here. Everyone shares a sense of humility and transparency that I do not see almost anywhere on youtube. Having said this, I appreciate Suzanne's explanation of its choice regarding kickstarter projects as I appreciated her amazing top 10, I hope she continues with this strong sense of direction and motivation. The same goes for the amazing crew of the Dice Tower, they gives me joy everyday hearing Zee, Sam and of course, Tom's opinions and reviews across this amazing channel. Really thank you for it! I hope I can support the Dice Tower for ever =D

My wife and I loved the Dice Tower Cruise! Yes, the food and games and activities were all great. But the best part was all the wonderful people!

Tom, I appreciate your delivery and presentation as it is, I think you are pretty enthusiastic already.

Jared cracked me up, with his "I played Impulse".

BOARD GAME MAKEOVER: Splendor should have a family friendly theme, it's a family weight game. I've played it many times, but just can't get myself to buy it because the theme is so pasted on. So I hope you choose a family friendly theme. Suggestion below:Gardening: Red is tomatoes, Green is Snap peas, Blue is blueberries?, Black is eggplant?, White is beans?, and the gold joker is fertilizer. The cards that you buy are plants that have grown in your garden and they produce (because plants grow stuff!) the associated garden item. Sometimes the colors won't match, but those could be seen as "volunteers" (if you know that gardening term). The nobles could be rethemed to be either friendly neighbors who are impressed by your garden, or maybe cute animals that think your garden is a nice place to visit.

Suzanne, I appreciate the update on what goes on behind the scenes for your KS segment. I know that sparked more conversation was probably warranted, but it's your segment and I appreciate you telling us what you find interesting and why. I'm not a big fan of horror, either, so guess not seeing as many of those games never triggered anything for me. I also appreciated you pointing out how many KS campaigns are going on and how you really can't cover them all in your short time. Thanks for what you do and for taking some time to talk about it.

I have to say I really like the recent changes to the boardgaming with colleagues segment. I used to always skip it because the intro was so cringy to me. Much less awkward and much better!

Suzanne your segment was fantastic. That level of transparency and more importantly - honesty - is everything is a hobby/passion orientated industry. I really enjoyed your comments.

Splendor re-theme idea for The Board Game Makeover - how about elves making toys for Christmas? The tokens are the supplies you'd need (wood, paint, fabric or fur, plastic, strings, batteries), and the cards would be the toys you could make.

SPLENDOR RETHEME: the first option would be a Harry Potter potion game. The gems would be ingredients such as Bat Wing (Black), Unicorn Hair (White), Dragon blood (Red), Mandrake (Green). Cheese/Rotten Egg (Blue) trying to be top of the class.
Another could be a cooking theme where you're making foods with the five specific tastes received by taste receptors; saltiness, sweetness, bitterness, sourness, and umami and winning awards (nobles).

For the Kickstarter News, what might be interesting is occasional 'news about crowdfunding' segments rather than just 'games currently on Kickstarter' - fulfillment stats, companies that have previously used KS for most of their products pretty much announcing that they're no longer using the platform, etc.

The Board Game Makeover-
I think it would be pretty fitting to re-theme Splendor into a Christmas theme. Change the gems into different color ornaments and gold into gifts to buy different Christmas items and things. Then re-theme the nobles into Santa's elves.
I would, personally, LOVE to pull that out every Christmas season!

This is for you Chaz. I have tinkered a lot with Samurai Swords/Ikusa. Not because I don't love the game, but because the people I play with do not like the "feel" of it. When you change the feel of how the game plays that is when it is a different game. I made some rule changes that changed tactics of the game, but in the end, it was large armies wondering around in a cat and mouse game to kill your enemies generals. It was the same game. But other changes that either rooted people to a set location, or made it no longer so powerful to make someone lose a general, that totally changed the how the game felt as you played it. That was a different game, based on the same mechanics. Because that is when people who don't like the original are more likely to like the new version and vice versa. Tactical changes keep a game fresh, but changes that modify how it feels to play is when it is no longer the same game.

For the Splendor retheme - how about food/restaurant themed? The gems can be spices/ingredients, like salt (white), pepper (black), water (blue), meat (red), & veggie (green). Gold can be allspice or maybe some fancy serving thing. So you have to collect the ingredients to make different dishes (the cards). The cards can also be used as ingredients because they'll be dishes that can substitute (like a red card would be a meat dish, a white card would be maybe like cheese or something else salty). Also when you get the cards it means you've mastered that recipe, so you can include it in your menu. And the nobles would be either complete meals or patrons at your restaurant (so you need all the items in your menu in order to get them).
